						 <p><strong>Texas Tech University</strong><br /> <strong>Department of Psychological Sciences</strong><br /> <strong>Open-Rank Position in Neuroscience</strong></p> <p>The Department of Psychological Sciences at Texas Tech University anticipates hiring a neuroscientist to collaborate with a multidisciplinary, computational neuroimaging group. The successful candidate will employ human neuroimaging as a core methodology but can have a research focus that fits within any subarea of the department including clinical, cognitive, counseling human factors, or social. The appointment will be rank-appropriate to credentials and experience. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in psychology, neuroscience, or a closely related field. Applicants must have a strong, programmatic research focus and are expected to attract extramural research funding. Applicants should have the ability to teach effectively at undergraduate and graduate levels and be willing to contribute service to the department, college, university, community, and profession. 						 <p>The Psychology Department at Berry College is seeking a Psychologist for a Three-year Clinical Position to begin Fall 2014.</p> <p>The Psychology Department at Berry College invites applications for a 3-year renewable Clinical Position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level beginning Fall 2014. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Psychology and have expertise and training in Applied Behavior Analysis; the ideal candidate would also be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Preference will be given to candidates with both doctoral level BCBA (BCBA-D) and eligibility for Licensure as a psychologist in the state of Georgia. Teaching responsibilities will include such courses as Applied Behavior Analysis, Introduction to Psychology, and Lifespan Development. Advising and mentoring undergraduate students, supervising interns and field experience and service at the college, school, and department level are expected.</p> <p>This faculty member will also assist in the development of an undergraduate program that would prepare students for BCaBA certification. Berry College has initiated discussion of formal training collaborations with clinical facilities in the region that take a lead role nationally in the development of innovative use of ABA to treat severe behavioral disorders, language acquisition, educational deficits and feeding disorders. The program is expected to include close collaboration with faculty in these facilities for providing classroom instruction and supervision of students in clinical practica. 						 <p><strong>Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship in the Psychology of Imagination</strong></p> <p>The Positive Psychology Center at the University of Pennsylvania seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow to begin in the Summer or Fall 2014, for one to three years. The fellow will help implement a grant awarded by the John Templeton Foundation to the National Philanthropic Trust (NPT) on the psychology of imagination. The fellow will work with Dr. Martin E. P. Seligman as well as other members of our research team. In addition, the fellow will interact with senior scientists on the scientific advisory board for this grant. The fellow will be housed at the University of Pennsylvania’s Positive Psychology Center.</p> <p>The fellow’s main responsibilities include planning research meetings attended by creative leaders in a variety of fields. To that end, the fellow will implement the following tasks: selecting and recruiting participants, overseeing meeting preparation and logistics, developing interview and research procedures (including qualitative and quantitative assessments), managing and analyzing data, as well as writing up articles and/or books summarizing findings of meetings in collaboration with other members of the research team.</p> <p>In addition, the fellow will have the opportunity to continue developing his or her independent research program related to the psychology of imagination, broadly defined as the mental representations (visual, verbal, and auditory) of things that are not present to the senses. Research by the fellow can include investigations of imagination, prospection, original thinking, creativity, and innovation, among other constructs. Research by the fellow may involve examinations of determinants, measurement, and enhancement of imagination-related abilities, among other topics. The fellow’s scientific work can be in the area of neuroscience, clinical, cognitive, social, or personality psychology, and can take place in the laboratory or doing fieldwork.</p> <p>Experience with qualitative and quantitative research design, advanced statistics, as well as strong writing abilities and publication record is required for this position. 						 <p>Applications are being accepted for a post-doctoral fellowship in the Stress, Sleep and Development laboratory of Dr. Emma Adam at Northwestern University. Adam’s research focuses on social/environmental factors influencing stress hormones and sleep quality in adolescents and young adults, and the implications of stress and sleep for emotional and physical health and academic outcomes, with a strong interest in explaining racial/ethnic and socioeconomic disparities. Primary activity will involve data analysis and publication of existing data from several studies. These include a 10-year longitudinal study on adolescent social and biological (HPA axis, genetic) risk factors for depression and anxiety, a 20-year longitudinal study of racial/ethnic discrimination and health, and a recent study of the impact of stress, stress hormones and sleep on executive functioning and academic outcomes in Chicago Public School students. Fellow may also be involved in planning/pilot testing/grant writing for new projects, and overseeing undergraduate research assistants. Fellow has the opportunity to be affiliated with the Cells to Society: A Center on Social Disparities in Health at Northwestern, which provides a rich training environment and community for students interested in developmental psychobiology, health psychology and social disparities in biology and health.</p> <p>Candidates should be trained in developmental, clinical or health psychology or related disciplines and have a strong record of scholarly productivity. 						 <p>The Department of Psychology at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Psychology. The appointment will be effective August 2014.</p> <p>Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology by time of appointment with a strong commitment to undergraduate education, mentoring student research, advising, and supervising internships. The successful candidate will be expected to teach introductory psychology, research methods, and upper level courses among abnormal, personality, and psychological testing. We are particularly interested in applicants who will develop an active research program incorporating student collaborators and seek external funding. Prior undergraduate teaching experience, student mentoring, and research publications preferred. Prior experience with distance learning would be beneficial.</p> <p>Coastal Carolina University is a public comprehensive liberal arts institution located just nine miles from the Atlantic coast resort of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Coastal enrolls more than 9,400 students from 45 states and 56 nations.
