I ended up with a more promising position elsewhere, but Hamilton never got back to me about this VAP position.

Either they canceled the search outright or they hired someone and just didn't bother to tell me. I really doubt they are still hiring, given the position was (re)-posted over a month ago. One other place to which I applied did cancel their search, and they had the decency to tell me that they did that.

Regardless of whether Hamilton canceled the search or hired someone, I think it is somewhat in poor taste not to get back to someone.

Did anyone else hear anything?

A couple of top candidates took competing offers, so the search was re-opened.

Anyone know what happened with the Hamilton College visiting position?

It was initially posted for January and I was told they'd interviewed someone. Then all of a sudden it was re-advertised with a new May 1st deadline (though many materials still say Jan 5th). Also, now the application requires 3 rec letters when it didn't before.

Maybe someone flaked out?
