definitely use the information to figure out if you can have a career and life there, for however long you'd like that job to be. they are at least inviting you to consider all of that. If they make you an offer then you have an informed starting point for further questions.

My "read" on this is that perhaps the institution isn't in the most ideal location and the committee wants to keep you as a finalist or runner-up, so they're sending some additional information to keep you interested. Alternatively, if you had asked about any of this during the interview itself, there may be fair chance the chair wanted to follow-up with more complete information. Good luck!

At a minimum, the committee chair liked you. More likely, at least a handful of people liked you quite a bit. They probably have at least one more person they're seeing, who is perhaps someone who could surpass you. But it's possible that they liked you a lot and they anticipate the person/people coming in after you won't be quite as good, so they want to keep you warm. Or at least the committee chair feels this way (others could disagree.)

Regardless, you didn't bomb the interview!
