Swarthmore College – PSYCHOLOGY AND NEUROSCIENCE. Located in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Swarthmore College is a highly selective liberal arts college whose mission combines academic rigor with social responsibility. Swarthmore has a strong institutional commitment to excellence through diversity in its educational program and employment practices and actively seeks and welcomes applications from candidates with exceptional qualifications, particularly those with demonstrable commitments to a more inclusive society and world. The Department of Psychology announces a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level to begin in the fall semester, 2013. We seek applicants who use the tools of neuroscience to study psychological processes. We welcome applicants who work in cognitive neuroscience, affective neuroscience, social neuroscience, or clinical neuroscience. We seek an individual with both a strong commitment to teaching and an active research program that can involve bright undergraduates. Teaching responsibilities will include introductory and advanced undergraduate courses in neuroscience and psychology. The Department has resources intended to support a research program in neuroscience, including EEG/ERP equipment. Applicants should submit a letter describing their teaching and research interests, a current CV, reprints or preprints of recent work, and three letters of recommendation. Consideration of candidates will begin immediately, and we expect to bring candidates to Swarthmore for interviews starting in mid-October. Applications and letters should be addressed to the Psychology and Neuroscience Search Committee, Dept. of Psychology, Swarthmore College and sent in pdf format to the following email address: ude.eromhtraws|hcysp#ude.eromhtraws|hcysp. Inquiries may be made to Barry Schwartz, Department Chair, at ude.eromhtraws|1rawhcsb#ude.eromhtraws|1rawhcsb or 610-328-8418.
