DAVIDSON COLLEGE invites applications for two positions: a TENURE-TRACK ASSISTANT PROFESSOR POSITION IN THE DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY (CLINICAL/ABNORMAL) and a RENEWABLE THREE-YEAR FACULTY/ADMINISTRATIVE POSITION IN HUMAN NEUROPSYCHOLOGY.
The tenure-track position in the Department of Psychology at the Assistant Professor level will be available beginning August 2015. Preference will be given to candidates who have a Ph.D. in clinical psychology. Only applicants with a strongly scientific approach, a commitment to undergraduate teaching, a record of promising research that can incorporate undergraduate collaborators, and for which the candidate will seek extramural funding will be considered. The teaching load is five courses/academic year and course responsibilities include teaching some combination of abnormal, introductory, clinical research methods, a seminar in the candidate’s major interest area, and a specialty course (courses including diverse cultural, minority content, and/or specialized methods will be highly valued). The Faculty/Administrative Position is a three-year renewable appointment teaching jointly in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience Program [60%] with administrative responsibilities [40%], beginning August 2015. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in psychology and be prepared to teach three undergraduate courses a year in introductory psychology, a specialized course in human neuropsychology, and other courses supporting psychology, neuroscience, and health sciences. The department has particular interest in supporting the biological and physiological foundations of psychology. For the 40% administrative responsibilities, candidates will work with the Associate Dean for Teaching, Learning, and Research to design and conduct program assessment and evaluation of program and grant activities in Academic Affairs. Candidates for the Faculty/Administrative position will not be expected to develop a research program.
