I saw an ad at a school where the location is excellent, although the position seems sketchy. They did not list in the ad what the teaching load is, whether there are grad students, research support, etc.
Then I saw the kicker - I was to send my application materials to HR. Let me correct that - I should send my resume to HR, and I should tell them the specific position to which I apply. Understandably so, they might mistakenly consider me for the cafeteria line cook position.
That is not all. I try to log-on to the site and create an account … nothing works. The ad gives me no contact other than HR. No email address. No faculty contact.
Now I find myself wondering, do I really want to proceed with this? Aren't the warning signs all manifestly apparent?
