The Department of Psychology in Dedman College invites applications for three tenure-track Assistant Professor positions: two positions in Clinical Psychology and one in Health Psychology to begin August 2016. A Ph.D. is required at the time of the appointment. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain a highly productive research program that can generate external funding and that would appeal to graduate students in our APA-accredited doctoral program in clinical psychology. Candidates must be committed to excellence in teaching and mentoring at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. For the two Clinical positions, research area of interest is psychopathology, broadly defined. The department has recently developed a psychological services clinic, therefore we are particularly interested in candidates who can supervise doctoral students in the clinic and who are licensed or license eligible in Texas. For the Health position, research areas of interest include, but are not limited to: (1) health disparities, and (2) health intervention or prevention research. Applicants with a PhD in any relevant area of psychology (clinical, health, social, developmental) will be considered. Current faculty members have established strong collaborative relationships with medical centers and community agencies in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, offering access to special clinical populations and high-tech medical facilities. Additional information on the SMU Department of Psychology can be found at http://www.smu.edu/psychology/. Applications should be submitted electronically (pdf format) and must include curriculum vitae, a statement of research and teaching interests, representative publications or preprints, and evidence of teaching effectiveness. Three letters of reference are also required. To ensure full consideration, the application must be received by October 1, 2015, but the committee will continue to accept applications until the position is filled. Applications should be sent to Clinical Psychology Faculty Search or the Health Psychology Faculty Search, respectively, at ude.ums|llaftsew#ude.ums|llaftsew.
