This is a rather small question, but I could use some advice. I applied for an Oct 1 deadline, and while I know it's not the best thing to do, I waited until Oct 1 to hit submit. All but one of my letters is in, and I just found out that the missing referee received only a blank e-mail from the school, instead of an e-mail with instructions for how to upload the letter. I e-mailed HR about this, but should I also e-mail the search committee chair and explain what happened/ask if they'd prefer my letter writer to e-mail the letter directly?
I don't want to bother the SC chair about an administrative issue, but I'm not sure how soon HR will get back to to me or when the committee plans to meet (or whether they'll penalize me for the missing rec letter). Some application systems have an option for the applicant to "resend" the letter request, but unfortunately this one does not!
Is this worth an e-mail to chair or would that be seen a nuisance?
