Are there presently guidelines for updating the wiki?

For example, when a position is listed as "open" why does it get listed under every area? It should be confined to the open area, otherwise someone updates the cognitive posting but a developmental person only updates their area. For example, UNT was just sitting in the open area and now it's everywhere.

Another example is when a posting says "quantitative methods" and is open to the area of specialization, shouldn't that go into "quantitative" only? For example, Emory is now posted in multiple areas. This doesn't happen to all postings, just a few here and there.

Also, when updating the wiki, is it possible for folks to put a quick summary of what they updated? For example, "added UNT to dev" or "phone interview UNT dev" or something like that. That makes it much easier to see what has been updated during a day.

Yes, there are guidelines in the "How to Use this Wiki" section (see relevant quotes below), but some people do not follow them. Regarding your open and quantitative examples:

If a job can be classified in more than one field (e.g., clinical and developmental), then post the job in the most closely related field and add cross-references in the other related fields.

I agree that an open job should be listed in the open area section, then cross-referenced (as appropriate) in other sections. Similarly, a quantitative job with an open area of specialization should be listed in the quantitative section, then cross-referenced elsewhere. Some people probably find it easier to simply post a job in multiple sections without cross-referencing, perhaps not realizing that it complicates the updating process. I could go through the wiki and try to clean up these cases, but it would take a while.

Regarding summaries of updates:

Write a short description of your update in the box provided (e.g., "Random State University clinical rejection")

This is easy for people to do, but most do not. There is not much that can be done about it.
