The Department of Psychology at the University of Hartford is seeking candidates for a one-year full-time non-tenure track position as a Visiting Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology in the Graduate Institute of Professional Psychology for 2016-17.
The successful candidate must have completed the doctorate in clinical psychology or closely related field by start date. Licensure or ability to pursue licensure as a psychologist in Connecticut during the one year appointment is preferred. Candidates sensitive to the role of cultural diversity and social justice are preferred. Candidates who are committed to encouraging underrepresented minorities in psychology are strongly encouraged to apply. Primary teaching responsibilities may include classes in personality, psychopathology, psychotherapy, and/or community psychology, with opportunities to teach in the candidate’s area of specialization. We are particularly interested in someone with interests in health disparities in mental health service delivery, providing psychological services to underserved populations, and/or advocacy on behalf of those in need of psychological services. Job responsibilities include teaching, mentoring doctoral-level students, student advising, and service to the Department, the College, and the University. The teaching load is three courses per semester plus participating in qualifying examinations and admissions. Candidates should show a willingness and ability to employ technology in teaching.

The Department of Psychology has 20 full-time faculty members, 220 undergraduate majors, 100 master’s students across three programs (clinical practices, organizational psychology, and school psychology), and 130 doctoral students in clinical psychology.
