Birmingham-Southern College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor of Clinical or Counseling Psychology to begin in August, 2016. We seek candidates with a commitment to excellence in teaching in a liberal arts environment and with the ability and desire to maintain a productive research program that can involve our highly motivated undergraduates. Candidates should be able to teach a broad array of undergraduate courses commensurate with a liberal arts curriculum, including some of the following: introduction to psychology, psychological disorders, forensic psychology, health psychology, personality, tests and measurements, and other courses within their area of expertise. Teaching responsibilities include six courses per academic year and one course during a January term. Excellent teaching and research facilities are available to support a variety of faculty/student collaborations. Additional responsibilities include student advising and service to the College.

Review of credentials will begin on November 2, 2015, and will continue until the position is filled. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in clinical psychology or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited program; ABD will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated excellence in teaching and scholarship.
