The Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Theology invites applications for a W3 Professorship for Social Psychology with a focus on Gender and Diversity at the Department of Psychology and Sports Science to be filled by the earliest possible starting date.
The successful candidate is expected to represent the field of social psychology adequately in teaching and research from both a theoretical and applied perspective. Applicants should be internationally recognised for their research and publications. In accordance with the focus of the professorship, previous research activities should be clearly related to the topic of gender and diversity. Experience related to the topic of ‘Health across the lifespan’, a research priority at the Department of Psychology and Sports Science, is also desirable. The successful candidate is expected to teach in the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes in Psychology. Ideally, he/she should also teach courses on methods used in psychology.
Prerequisites for the position are a university degree in psychology, university level teaching experience, a doctoral degree and additional academic qualifications. These should be in the form of a Habilitation (post-doctoral thesis) or equivalent academic publications. The necessary qualifications may also have been acquired in a non-university context or through a junior faculty position (e.g. W1 Professor or Assistant Professor). We expect candidates to have had research published in international journals.
FAU expects applicants to become actively involved in the administration of academic affairs and welcomes experience in managing research projects and raising third-party funding.
The University of Erlangen-Nürnberg pursues a policy of intense student mentoring and therefore expects its teaching staff to be present during lecture periods.
