The Department of Psychology at the University of Hartford is seeking candidates for a full-time tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology in the Graduate Institute of Professional Psychology to begin August 2016.
The successful candidate must have completed the doctorate in clinical psychology or closely related field by start date, with demonstrated interest, training, and experience in psychological assessment. Licensure or the ability to secure licensure as a psychologist in Connecticut within 2 years of hire is required. Primary teaching responsibilities will include classes in - (personality, cognitive/intellectual, or neuropsychology), with opportunities to teach in the candidate’s area of specialization. The teaching load is three courses per semester. Job responsibilities include teaching, mentoring doctoral-level student dissertation research, research leading to publication, student advising, and service to the Department, the College, and the University. Candidates should show a willingness and ability to employ technology in teaching. Candidates sensitive to the role of cultural diversity are preferred.
The Department of Psychology has 20 full-time faculty members, 220 undergraduate majors, 100 master’s students across three programs (clinical practices, organizational psychology, and school psychology), and 130 doctoral students in clinical psychology.
