The Department of Psychology in the Faculty of Arts and Science at the University of Toronto invites applications for a contractually limited-term appointment (CLTA) with a focus on social psychology and either personality/abnormal or developmental psychology. The appointment is at the rank of Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream beginning on July 1, 2016 and ending on June 30, 2018. The position involves teaching undergraduate courses in social psychology and either personality/abnormal or developmental psychology, with other courses to be determined.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in social psychology or a closely related field by the date of appointment or shortly thereafter, possess a record of excellence in communicating research findings as evidenced by conference presentations and journal publications, and must show a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and teaching-related scholarly activities in two areas of Psychology. Evidence of excellence in teaching and research can be demonstrated by endorsements from referees, teaching accomplishments highlighted as part of the application, teaching evaluations, dossier and/or syllabi and evidence of strong communication and expository skills.
