Erikson Institute, one of the nations leading graduate schools in child
development, invites applications for three open rank faculty positions (assistant,
associate or full professor), clinical or tenure track, to begin fall 2016. Applicants
are sought for teaching, research, and scholarship from infancy through age 8
with ability to work in one or more academic programs including infant studies,
child development generalist program, and/or teacher education.
We seek faculty whose scholarship recognizes the complexities of development in
caregiving and educational relationships given particular cultural, social and
economic contexts and historical circumstances that shape both opportunities and
challenges for children and families. Areas of scholarship and professional
practice of particular interest include dual language and biliteracy
development
in early childhood; math, science and literacy development; technology in early
childhood; physical wellbeing, mental health and early learning in infancy,
toddlers and preschoolers; clinical interventions with young children and their

families; and public policy as it relates to these areas of professional work.
Responsibilities of tenure track faculty include teaching graduate courses
(on campus and/or online); advising masters and doctoral students; developing
an active program of funded research with publications; taking leadership role in
program development; engagement with the public at local, state, and regional
levels; and contributing expertise to the Institutes mission and initiatives in early
childhood programs and policies.
Responsibilities for clinical faculty include teaching graduate courses (on
campus and/or online); advising masters and doctoral students; participating in
program development and administration; participation in community service
within the Institute and contributing expertise to the Institutes mission and
initiatives in early childhood programs and policies.
