Assistant Professor in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, Tenure Track
Birmingham-Southern College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Psychology with a specialization in Clinical or Counseling Psychology to begin fall 2016. Candidates should be committed to excellence in teaching and to the development of a research program involving undergraduates. Candidates should be able to teach a broad array of undergraduate courses commensurate with a liberal arts curriculum, including Psychological Disorders and other courses within their area of expertise. The teaching load is three courses per term (lecture and/or lab) during the academic year, plus a January course. Course responsibilities often include multiple sections of the same course, and current average class sizes in the Psychology department are 25 students or fewer. The January Exploration Term is designed to enhance BSC's liberal arts education through specialized seminars, internships, service-learning, research, and study travel. Excellent teaching and research facilities are available to support a variety of faculty/student collaborations. Additional responsibilities include student advising and active service to the department and College.

Review of credentials will begin on January 19, 2016, and will continue until the position is filled. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in clinical psychology or counseling psychology from an APA accredited program. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated excellence in teaching and scholarship.
