Job Posting for 2-year NIH Funded Postdoc
The Children’s Learning Institute in the Department of Pediatrics at UT-Health Science Center at Houston is seeking a post-doctoral associate in the areas of image analysis (structural and functional) and developmental neuroscience. The 2-year Postdoctoral Fellowship will begin in spring or summer of 2016. The fellow will join a multidisciplinary team of investigators on an NIH funded project examining the impact of stress on neuroimaging, cognitive, psychological health, and salivary biomarkers following pediatric injury. The successful candidate will be expected to work independently (with some supervision) to analyze multimodal neuroimaging data (volumetrics, cortical thickness, DTI, resting state connectivity with fMRI, lesion identification and analysis, and arterial/venous structure) obtained from typically-developing and atypically developing pediatric study participants. The postdoc may elect to participate in the UTH postdoc certificate program which includes a career development series including grant writing, ethics, communication skills and opportunities to interact with other UTH postdocs.
Qualifications
Applicants should have a doctorate in psychology or neuroscience. Successful candidates will have a strong publication record that reflects expertise in structural MR imaging. Experience with Freesurfer and FSL are highly desirable. Applicants with a publication record in stress response systems using salivary biomarkers and some experience with neuroimaging methods will also be considered.
