I'd appreciate your advice on how to handle the following situation:
School A has extended a verbal offer (via email) about 6 weeks ago. There has been sporadic communication since then largely consisting of "the wheels are in motion" messages and that the letter should be coming "any day". School A is (was?) my preferred choice.
School B has provided a written offer letter. It's competitive with what I imagine School A will eventually offer.
School C requested an interview. It has the potential to be competitive with Schools A and B.
We had a very informal and general discussion about start-up prior to my receiving the verbal offer at School A, but I haven't been asked to provide any more detail. I don't want to be rude and understand that admin stuff can take a while, but I also need to know what is in the letter so I can make an informed decision about B and C. How do I politely put pressure on School A to hurry it up with the official letter? Or do I just continue to wait? What do I do about B and C?
