I know that there are myriad aspects of a job that are important when considering to apply for a position, such as salary, location, teaching load, department collegiality, research support, ranking, quality of student, and many more not in this short list. But for the sake of discussion, which three would you rank as the most important? That is, in your mind, which three stand atop all others as being the most important?
Just curious what you all think. I'm considering hitting the market in the fall (already in a TT position) and thought this would be a fun exercise.
