Applications are invited for a full-time funded Postdoctoral Fellowship in Auditory Neuroscience available in Dr. Benjamin Zendel’s laboratory in the Faculty of Medicine, Memorial University of Newfoundland, Grenfell Campus (Corner Brook, NL, Canada). We seek highly qualified individuals to join a new laboratory that uses electroencephalography (EEG) to investigate the impact of aging on auditory processing. We are particularly interested in the effects of age on speech and music perception. The fellow will be expected to lead the research process. This includes including designing and conducting experiments, data analysis, and preparation of manuscripts. The lab includes a 128-channel BioSemi EEG system housed in a double-walled sound attenuating booth, and software/hardware to conduct auditory perceptual research.
Applicants must have a doctoral degree in psychology, cognitive neuroscience, or a related field by the start date. Experience with auditory research or collecting and analyzing neuroimaging data (particularly EEG) is an asset.
The position is funded, and the salary will be negotiated based on experience. The position is for an initial term of two years, and may be renewed for up to five years. Start-date is September 2016, however this date is flexible.
To apply please send a CV, a short letter summarizing your research interests, and contact information for two references to Dr. Benjamin Zendel (ac.num|lednezb#ac.num|lednezb)
