Position Description: The Social-Emotional Development and Intervention Lab (PI: Tina Malti, PhD) invites applications for a one-year postdoctoral research position. The post-doctoral fellow will help coordinate a research project that investigates the development of screening and assessment tools to detect social-emotional strengths, as well as behavioral and emotional difficulties in children and adolescents. The project also aims to improve the implementation of practices through the development of intervention strategies that are tailored to meet the developmental needs of children at risk for behavioral problems. Duties of the post-doctoral fellow will include: overseeing data collection, conducting data analyses, participating in preparing conference presentations and scientific articles for publication, supervising research assistants, and interfacing with researchers and practitioners who are collaborators in this research.
Qualifications: The successful applicant will hold a Doctoral degree in clinical child psychology, applied developmental psychology, or a related degree in the social and behavioral or health sciences. The applicant will also demonstrate outstanding statistical skills, and a strong interest in clinical child psychology, developmental psychology, intervention science, and research methodology. The post-doctoral fellow candidate should have experience supervising research assistants, evidence of independent scholarship, outstanding writing skills, and publication productivity in peer-reviewed journals. Background in any of the following areas will be an asset: social-emotional development, developmental assessment, promotion of child mental health, externalizing problem behaviors, experimental and quasi-experimental longitudinal designs, and intervention program evaluation.
