Interested in applying to a liberal arts school? Here is the advice I wish my PhD advisor had given me.
1. Your cover letter matters. A lot. Tell us who you are and why you want to work at a Liberal Arts school.
2. Your teaching statement matters. A lot. And *everybody* uses real-world demonstrations in the classroom. Tell us something more meaningful than that.
3. Don't bother sending "selected" student comments. We'll ignore them.
4. When we ask for teaching evals, don't leave anything out. Better to overwhelm us then leave us wondering why you left something out.
Good luck to all.
