Tenured or Tenure-Track Position in Health Disparities. The Department of Psychological, Health, & Learning Sciences (PHLS) at the University of Houston (UH) seeks scholars for a tenured or tenure track faculty appointment at the academic rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Priority areas of study for this position are in health disparities associated with chronic disease (i.e., addictions, autism, cancer, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, mental health, obesity, etc.), prevention, intervention, and/or basic science. This is an exciting time at UH given the university’s health initiative, the construction of a new Health and Biomedical Sciences Building, and our close proximity to the world-renowned Texas Medical Center. The department is rapidly expanding to make a collective impact on addressing health and educational disparities in our local, state, national, and international communities.
