For those of you who have had phone or campus interviews, did schools initially contact you by email or phone? My office phone hasn't been working the last couple weeks and I'd like to think maybe that's the reason I haven't been contacted yet…or I'm just not having much luck this year on the job market, which is probably more likely the case :(

I was invited for an interview at an R1 via email. It's still pretty early in the season, though, and I bet a lot of places won't be interviewing until after the holidays.

All three of my phone interviews contacted me via email first. I don't want to be a downer but having been on search committees myself, if they can't reach you by phone they will send an email. Good luck and I hope you hear something soon!
