how long did people wait from their phone interview until they were invited for an in-person interview? it's only been a day, but the waiting is killing me! if the search chair has been very responsive to my "thank you" email and answered in detail an additional question via email, does that sound like a good sign?
Congrats on the phone interview! I'm surprised they didn't give you some sort of a timeline. I was invited for an interview a little more than a month later. They said I was their first phone interview, they were doing a few more in the upcoming weeks, and that they would make a decision on their final candidates right before winter break. So, be prepared for quite a wait depending on when they are doing other interviews and have time to meet again.
i didn't get a specific timeline, just a "we'll let you know soon." and I don't know if they are interviewing other people. right now, I think I might be the only one, as they haven't mentioned interviewing other people. but then again, they don't have to tell me that.
Whew! I am not the only one who are so anxious about this..
I am waiting to hear about campus visit schedule and it has been two weeks - it is killing me and my spouse thinks I am going nuts ;)…
Sometimes they call back within a few days, and other times they never call back and you get a rejection letter a couple of months later. Even when they say they will "let you know for sure" they may not. This whole process requires a great deal of patience. I have had a variety of response times after phone interviews.
I've had three SLAC phone interviews this season, and it took about 2-3 weeks for the first two until I found out via this wiki that I did NOT get a visit. My latest one happened in early December and they told me it wouldn't be until they were back in session (mid-Jan) that they made their decisions.
