Spatial Informatics and HCI Position: Spatial informatics encompasses software systems for databases, sensor systems, artificial intelligence, human-computer interaction, spatial cognition, and other related domains and deals with methods for modeling, rendering, representing, retrieving, analyzing, and interacting with spatial information (both for humans and machines). The school seeks a candidate with research interests enhancing or complementing its current spatial-informatics research strengths. Research interest and expertise in one or more of the following areas are desired: spatial cognition, spatial HCI, spatial linguistics, and computer vision or machine learning in spatial contexts (e.g., wayfinding or autonomous navigation).
