POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Faculty Position: PSYCHOLOGY
Responsibilities:
• Teach 30 undergraduate credits per academic year to include general psychology, behavioral neuroscience, and intermediate and advanced-level courses in areas of interest. Teaching responsibilities may also include a senior capstone course and the history of psychology.
• Contribute to the establishment and growth of a bachelor’s degree program in psychology.
• Assist the college in its transition from a two-year to a four-year institution.
• Serve on college, division, and departmental committees as assigned.
• Advise students on general education and discipline-specific requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Ph.D. in Psychology from an accredited college or university. Specialization is open, but the ability to complement and extend the current strengths of the Psychology Department is essential.
• Commitment to undergraduate teaching excellence.
• Ability to mentor undergraduate students pursuing research experience.
• An eagerness to engage with colleagues, staff, and administrators to develop ways to improve the educational experience of students.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
Terms of Contract: Tenure track (9 month) faculty position. Fall semester begins August 2010. Salary is based on a nationally competitive Dixie State College faculty salary schedule. Excellent benefit package included. This position is contingent upon funding.
