dual career couples

My wife and I are a dual career couple. I have a TT job, but my wife doesn't, she is currently a lecturer (though still actively publishing). We have decided that this year I will go on the market to see if we can find a school that would be interested in hiring both of us.
Do folks state this up front or only when they are directly asked about relationship status? I know that this question is technically not allowed during interviews, but… I am planning on wearing my ring if I am interviewed. I also ask because many people in our area know us so it may seem odd not to mention my intentions up front. Or is it best to wait and see if I get an offer before bringing up the issue of a dual career couple?
