Does this mean the market is going to be absurdly tight for a longer amount of time? Certainly, NIH funds are about to take a really unfortunate hit…

Unless the midterm elections cause the economy to sink further I doubt it. I also don't think NIH will take a really big hit - probably not an increase in funding but I doubt a decrease. At the end of the day, the status quo where not much changes (for the better or worse) is probably what we'll see for the next two years (in policy and the job market).

Just my two cents.

That may be wishful thinking with regard to NIH….certainly not how program officers have been talking about it.
