One of my four letter writers did not send most of the letters! ACK! What now? Should I have her send them all now, or forget it? They have three strong letters, so I don't need hers, but if I list four and they only get three, is that horrible? I can't believe this.

If you are very concerned about how it would look for an institution to get three letters when you indicated that there would be 4 letters, I would ask the person to please send the letters to the appropriate places. At the same time, I think as long as the department gets the minimum number of letters requested (usually 3) then your file is complete and they can review your application. Just my thoughts though….I am interested to hear other people's thoughts.
I would agree with clinical health. So long as they got the amount required. However, if your 4th was someone who was going to speak almost exclusively about a certain aspect of your training (i.e., quantitative training or your teaching) then I would have them do it….at least to places that haven't had updates on the Wiki.
