I have the opportunity to teach as sessional lecturer for the winter term but this information was not in my early applications (October and November) and I was wondering whether I can contact the universities (only those I am really interested in) to let them know about it.

I would only do it if the teaching experience on your current application is kind of weak. If your app is getting set aside because of lack of teaching experience, adding a new teaching experience could help.
Otherwise, as I understand it, the only occasions that merits updates are: finishing your dissertation (if ABD), or getting a paper accepted for publication.
I agree with anon! anon! Only send an updated CV if your teaching experience on your submitted application is weak AND (I will add) the position is more teaching focused vs research (an R1 school probably won't care either way). Regardles of the type of school, you can always give an updated CV if you are invited for an interview.
Thanks Anon for your feedback. I guess I'll wait until receiving an invitation for an interview.
