I know that my reference writers received a request for letters from Case Western (on the app, you just submitted their contact info). Trying to figure out if I made some sort of cut or if this is standard—it wasn't the typical automated system like a lot of applications. Anyone have insight?

The only insight I have is that I emailed Case to find out about the status of their search because I have another offer and I was super interested in their position. The chair told me that the committee is meeting on Jan 11 and 12 to select the short list for phone interviews. This leads me to believe that there hasn't been a cut made unless it was something like "this person is clearly unqualified" (like someone with a PsyD or something along those lines…)
