Anyone hear anything on these colleges? I heard that Catholic Univ. will be looking at applications in the next couple of weeks, and deadlines have passed for both Denison and Drew with no word. It feels very late in the process, I certainly hope these places move quickly as most other places have interviewed and made offers!

I heard that Drew sent out emails to all applicants asking them to confirm whether they were still interested. I heard they are in the beginning stages of review.
The e-mail my friend received from Drew just acknowledged receipt of his complete application and asked that if anything changed regarding availability to let them know. Did others receive something different, e.g. a follow-up email specifically asking if they were still interested?
A friend of mine just received an acknowledgement and was told to let them know if something changed.
Got and email from Catholic U. stating my application had been sent to the committee. No word on their timeline…
I received an email rejection from Drew today, as well, but for the developmental position.
I also received a rejection from Drew. Is it just me or is it disheartening to get a rejection letter that states something like… "we had 45 highly qualified applicants…". I wish they would just leave that number out. I can take being rejected with there are 150 applications… but 45? Ouch.
Has the shortlist for Drew been contacted? I haven't received a rejection letter or been contacted for an interview.
Yes, short list made.
I, too, received a rejection and thought the same thing… only 45 applicants? I'm sure there was a lot of competition.
Right there with you, anon4. I sat in my bed and cried. I didn't make your top 10 out of 45 people? Go away, Drew University.
Hey now. They probably have a smaller pool because some people decided not to apply for a school that emphasizes undergraduate education. There's no reason to believe their pool wouldn't be super-competitive just because it's smaller than some other schools.
Drew's position was for applied and/or interdisciplinary social, so that probably created the smaller applicant pool.
But I'm a little confused. Was the short list contacted, or have they only gotten around to sending rejections (take heart- it could have been solely based on fit)? Or, do we think that not hearing one way or the other means long list?
It looks like Drew had two positions open - one the social position described above and one a developmental position. The rejection email I received was for the developmental position, and just stated that they had 45 applicants and that I was not on the short list. Maybe someone else can comment on how many applicants there were for the social position and whether all short listed people for both jobs have been contacted? Good luck, all!
I got an email yesterday for Denison (dev) that they wanted a phone interview for Wednesday. I declined since I've already taken an offer.
Thanks for that update, Anon. I was really hoping to hear something from Denison, but alas, no email. Oh well. Maybe now I can stop compulsively checking this wiki.
NO problem! The email had a sense of urgency to it…so I'm guessing they're going to proceed quickly.
Anon4, Why not contact them to inquire about your candidacy? If you are on some "alternate" list, knowing you are still interested might put you back on the radar…?? I have no clue, but what do you have to lose?
Well, I had just sent them an updated vitae… I don't want to be too pushy…?
I had a phone interview with Catholic University today. They indicated that they were finishing up phone interviews today, and that they want to complete all campus interviews by end of Feb…
Last week I had a phone interview and yesterday I had a campus interview with Catholic University. They reiterated the point you make, anon4. They want to complete campus interviews by the end of Feb and decide as soon as possible after that.
Wow, that was fast — last week phone interview this week campus interview?
