Just curious if they've made a shortlist and/or contacted people for interviews yet.

Still no updates? I would've thought that an early listing would have meant a quick search….
I assumed the same as you, an early search to get ahead of the curve.
But, I haven't heard a peep, either in my inbox, or through the grapevine.
My only consolation is hearing no one has heard yet either … .
Yeah, this is my first cycle on the job market and so far I've found it incredibly stressful. It's hard to interpret silence, and the lack of feedback even after a job search is completed makes it even harder to gauge one's market value.
If the job ad provides a contact name/email don't be afraid to use it.
I've emailed/called several places to find out the status of my application when i haven't heard for a while. Obviously you don't want to be pushy, but if you haven't heard in a month or 2 I'd get in touch (even if the ad doesn't provide contact details).
On the whole the response was polite and helpful. There's always the odd person who's unpleasant / having a bad day, but they're the exception.
It proved especially useful in that i discovered why i was being rejected/ignored and I'm now working to correct that. If I hadn't asked I'd have never known, and continued sending out applications with very low chances.
