Hi all. Just checking to see if there was any news about the social search at Simon Fraser (that hasn't made it to the wiki yet)?
Thanks in advance.
Also curious! I haven't heard anything from the school, but did hear informally that Canadian schools tend to hire Canadians.
I'm American, and I have interviews at two Canadian schools. I believe they are supposed to give preference to Canadians, ceteris paribus, but if they like you better than the other candidates, I don't see why they wouldn't hire you.
Congrats on your interviews, yEvb0! Do you mind me asking if you are interviewing at Simon Fraser? Also, I agree that the best candidate tends to get hired at Canadian schools, regardless of country of citizenship. In the rare occasion that an American and a Canadian candidate are equally qualified for the job, the Canadian will be given preference. But how often are two people equally qualified for the same position?
May I also ask if you received an invitation to interview at Wilfrid Laurier University?
Interview invites have not been made for either Laurier or Simon Fraser.
