I just received an application acknowledgment e-mail for an application I submitted there in November. I see from the wiki that campus interview invites have already been sent out. Is this just a glitch in the system?

I just saw the school I am at now do this, so I may have an explanation. In our case, there's a brutal online HR system that the SC avoids making the applicants deal with. So they have applications go by paper to the SC , although the school requires the online system be filled out for each at some point. Down the road, a HR rep of the department has to fill in the system for each applicant, and it is the online app that initiates the acknowledgement. This was done very late in the game here (after invites had gone out).
I received an application acknowledgement and a request to fill out an affirmative action form AFTER I had already been to campus for an interview. I thought it was strange, too. As far as I can tell, they began sending these out the day of the final campus interview. I'm pretty sure it isn't a glitch, but I don't have an explanation for the timing.
Campus interviews are complete now and the final vote will be made later this week (or so I'm told).
Within a week of applying for this job, I received an acknowledgement and affirmative action request - that was early December probably. I'm sure it's just a fluke reflective of the school's lack of organization…just kidding. Well, not really.
