Overview
The Department of Psychology at Montana State University (MSU) invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in developmental psychology (broadly defined). The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in psychology at the time of hire, will be expected to develop and maintain an active, extramurally-funded research program, and will participate in undergraduate and graduate teaching. Preference will be given to candidates whose area of research can complement existing faculty strengths (e.g., cognitive, social, health, aging, and physiological psychology). Responsibilities include fostering undergraduate and graduate research and teaching courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. Preference will be given to candidates who have expertise in quantitative research methodologies and are able to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in research design and analysis. Research-involved Psychology department faculty teach 2 courses per semester including graduate courses for its Masters program in Psychological Science. Resources for developmental research include the birth of approximately 1000 infants each year at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital, 5700 students in the Bozeman Public School District, and a vibrant retirement community in the surrounding area.

PhD in Psychology at the time of hire, with emphasis in any aspect of developmental psychology.

Strong publication and teaching record.
Strong skills in statistics and quantitative methods.
Teaching experience in a face-to-face format in psychology research methods.
Experience supervising and mentoring research of undergraduate and/or graduate students.
