The Department of Psychology at Colgate University invites applications for a tenure-track position in social psychology at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning fall semester 2013. Area of research is open. Completion of Ph.D. is expected prior to or shortly after the date of hire. Colgate is a highly selective liberal arts college where excellence in teaching and research are expected and supported. The appointee will join a psychology and neuroscience faculty deeply committed to a strong, research-oriented program and to a curriculum that integrates psychology and neuroscience perspectives. The teaching load is equivalent to five courses per year. Teaching responsibilities are likely to include staff-taught courses (e.g., Introduction to Psychology, Research Methods, or Advanced Statistics), Social Psychology, upper-level courses in the candidate’s specialty area, and supervision of senior thesis work. The successful candidate also will be expected to participate in all-university programs, including the Liberal Arts Core Curriculum.
