Summary: Your initial assignment will include teaching, at both undergraduate and graduate levels, as applicable; course and/or curriculum development; research/scholarship; involvement on College and University committees and/or initiatives; as well as duties as assigned. Job Responsibilities: Teaches a three (3) course load each semester and maintains active research and service activities. maintains an active research agenda, in keeping with the needs of the program. Attends academic conferences and publishes articles in peer-reviewed journals. Mentors undergraduate research.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to add new areas of research expertise to strengthen the Psychology program.
Experience or commitment to the use of technology in distance learning & university teaching. Interest in collaborating both within and outside the University in the development and delivery of instruction resulting in improved student learning. Must value continued scholarship and service to the school and university.
Minimum Qualifications: PhD in Psychology with a specialization in Cognitive Neuroscience or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent accreditation. Well qualified to teach courses in Experimental Psychology, Research Methods, General Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, Physiological Psychology, and Sensation and Perception. Expected to develop a strong research program involving students and the ability to mentor undergraduate students. ABD will be considered if degree is conferred by August 7, 2013. If successful candidate is ABD, appointment will be made at a Lecturer level on a fixed contract.
Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated research productivity and potential to secure external funding. A strong potential to add new areas of research expertise to strengthen the Psychology program.
Special Instructions: Appointment will be made on a 9-month multi-year appointment basis available August 2013.
