The Department of Psychology at Arizona State University invites applications for an Assistant Professor position to begin August 2013. In exceptional circumstances, candidates at the early associate level may be considered. This position is intended to support the advancement of a departmental strategic initiative in culture and social complexity from a variety of psychological perspectives. Applicants pursuing an active research program that employs: cultural approaches—broadly defined—to the study of social behaviors and phenomena; a cultural emphasis in relation to prevention science; and/or biological methods or pathways are encouraged to apply. Applicant area of specialization could fall within the scope of one or more fields of psychology, including clinical, cognitive, developmental, or social psychology.
The requirements for this position include: (1) a Ph.D. in Psychology or a closely related discipline by time of appointment; (2) evidence of scholarly contributions in relevant fields of psychology; and (3) a commitment to quality teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
