I have heard conflicting advice about the best way to list publications on a cv. Should I have two sections that separate peer-reviewed publications from invited publications (e.g., chapters, invited journal articles)? Should I just have one section of publications? Does it matter? Thanks!

If you have enough that this distinction doesn't look silly (1 or 2 pubs in a category), then yes some people do expect to see a distinction between peer-reviewed vs. not… but if you only have a few total pubs, I don't think splitting them up helps you… just makes it more apparent you only have a few pubs. I can't post the link because I'm not registered, but search the APS website for "vita voyeur", an article by Roddy Roediger, with some great advice on CVs!
Fixed the link for you. :)
