Post-doctoral Research Fellowships in Health Psychology and Neuropsychology at Kent State University
The Department of Psychology at Kent State University seeks applicants for multiple post-doctoral research fellowships beginning in 2013. These full-time one-year Fellowships are renewable for an additional year and pay is competitive with NIH guidelines. Clinical opportunities and supervision are available for applicants seeking to prepare for eventual licensure. Research Fellows will join a cohort of other postdocs and will have access to professional development opportunities (e.g., workshops in quantitative methods) and resources (e.g., travel stipend). Successful candidates will be expected to work closely with faculty mentors to participate in a productive research program and seek extramural funding. Participating faculty are highly productive researchers who have demonstrated success in attracting substantial federal funding in support of their research programs. The Department of Psychology’s health research is facilitated by strong, collaborative ties with many local hospitals. Further information about the department is available on the website.

Two positions are in health psychology and neuropsychology, encompassing topics such as using neuroscience approaches (e.g., advanced imaging, neuropsychological assessments, and biomarkers) in health psychology research contexts such as chronic physical (e.g., heart disease, pulmonary disease, stroke) and mental health (e.g., posttraumatic stress disorder, depression) conditions. All research is in human populations. Applicants with a PhD in Clinical Psychology are encouraged to apply. Participating faculty are Drs. Delahanty, Gunstad, and Hughes.
Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the positions are filled. Kent State is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
