How can I find out the quality of a SLAC? Is there a list that ranks SLACs that is similar to the Carnegie Classifications for research schools? How can I know if the school is a "ranked" SLAC?
Also, some schools put into their ads references to teaching "credit hours" rather than, for example, a 4-4 or 3-3 teaching load. How do these credit hours translate into the equivalent of a course? Or does it differ by school? For example, in some ads I've seen 12 credit hours per semester. What load does that translate into? 3-3? or 4-4?
I would appreciate it if someone could clarify these for me. Thanks!
