I am applying like crazy for positions this year. It recently occurred to me that, perhaps, it was not a great idea to use my university/professional email address. I have concerns that, should the administration be unhappy if I leave, they will find out that I had spent a lot of time sending out emails of job application materials, using my university email address. I guess this issue is akin to using professional letterhead when you send out application materials. I created a gmail account with my name, which I am not using on my CV. But then I have concerns that individuals who receive contacts from me using this gmail account will not think I am legit and will wonder why I am not contacting them through my professional email address that ends with ".edu."
Anyone have thoughts or feedback on this?
