"Top tier" journals are being thrown around on the disscussion boards and I think it is important, especially for grad students, for these to be more clearly defined.
For this thread, list about 10 journals that you perceive are the top tier journals for your sub field. If you want to put them in order great, but there is no need. Nature/Science/Cell (N/S/C) are obvious so don't bother listing them. Also, although I hate the exploitation of impact factors and how we are all judged by them, give some IF threshold for what is considered top and mid tier for your field. Finally, I think disputes over these lists are welcome since we are all trying to sort out the listed/perceived impact of journals.

Field: Neuroscience (IF threshold: ~ 5 and up for top tier, ~ 2-5 for mid tier)
