Director of Field Training
Psychology Department, Pace University-New York City
DIRECTOR OF FIELD TRAINING, DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY (Assistant/Associate
Professor): Pace University – New York City invites applications for the position of
Director of Field Training to begin as early as July 1, 2013. The Psychology Department
is housed within the Dyson College of Arts and Sciences at Pace University-New York
City, located in lower Manhattan. The Department of Psychology at Pace University
offers three graduate (APA-approved Psy.D. in School-Clinical Child Psychology, M.S.Ed.
in School Psychology, and M.A. in Psychology), two undergraduate (B.A. in Psychology
and B.A. in Applied Psychology and Human Relations), and a combined B.A./M.A.
program. The Director of Field Training specifically works with graduate students in
the Psy.D. and M.S.Ed. programs and contributes to teaching in the graduate and/or
undergraduate academic offerings in the department.
For candidates, a Ph.D., Psy.D., or comparable doctoral degree in Psychology is required
in school, clinical, or combined school-clinical concentrations. The ideal candidate will
have professional practice experience, a scholarly record, and a history of collegial
interactions. Some administrative experience is desirable as well as leadership
skills in contributing to the profession. This position involves an appreciation of and
commitment to training master’s and doctoral level students in the provision of
psychological services by establishing and maintaining affiliations with field supervisors
at field training programs in schools, hospitals, and other agencies. A commitment to
ethical guidelines, evidence based practice, and cultural and other aspects of diversity is
fundamental in this position.
