Open Rank (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) tenure-track position for Ph.D. license-eligible psychologist beginning Fall, 2014
We seek an outstanding scholar to contribute to our APA-accredited PhD program and our Specialist program in School Psychology. Area of specialization is open, but we are especially interested in an individual with expertise in one of two areas:
a. Pediatric or health-related psychology. This person would contribute primarily to our doctoral curriculum Emphases in Pediatric Psychology and Clinical Child Psychology, develop funded research opportunities that build on the program’s existing relationship with the Texas Child Study Center/Dell Children’s Hospital, and establish a bridge with the incoming medical school at UT anticipated to open in 2016.
b. Traditional school psychology. This person would contribute to our doctoral curriculum Emphasis in School Psychology as well as our Specialist (MA) program in school psychology. We are especially interested in an individual with scholarly expertise in diversity issues, including bilingual assessment and intervention; however, a range of areas of expertise can be accommodated within the curriculum.
Position is open rank. A strong history of scholarship and external funding is required for appointment at an advanced rank. Promise of scholarship and external funding will be primary criteria for applicants at the Assistant Professor level. Applicants from APA-accredited professional psychology programs are preferred.
Primary departmental affiliation will be in our non-traditional School Psychology Program consisting of six faculty with expertise in educational, psychological, and neuropsychological assessment, intervention, and consultation; family systems; cognitive-behavioral intervention; research methodology; special education policy, and professional school psychology. Responsibilities include an active program of funded research, undergraduate and graduate-level teaching, and supervision of practica and doctoral research.
