just out of curiosity. i saw that many posted information like "phone interview scheduled x 2", and I wonder if this kind of information is coming from the search committee/HR or the invited candidates just make it up…

I believe both will record; however, I would think that if it was a search committee member, they would just write something like, "phone interviews scheduled." I've seen it written like that on the wiki before so that's my thoughts. I've had a few interviews last year, and if someone had recorded "phone interview schedule," I would add the x2.
I have a similar question for anon. You seem to have posted and solicited information on the forum about an incredibly wide range of jobs (e.g., developmental, health, clinical, neuroscience, personality). I wonder where this kind of information is coming from.
The x2, x3, etc. marker is used to indicate how many people have that specific update for the wiki. For example, the first person to get a rejection letter would post the "rejection" update for that school. Another person getting rejected might add "x2" to indicate that two rejections have been sent out. Yet another rejected applicant might change it to "x3", and so forth…
Regarding derpdederp's question, note that several people post under the guest name "anon", which is why the name appears in many places. Only registered names like mine (vd) are guaranteed to be unique to specific individuals.
