Carlow University invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the Rank of Assistant Professor in the Undergraduate Psychology Program within the Department of Psychology and Counseling. This is a Tenure Track position. The department offers a B.A. in Psychology, a M.S. degree in Professional Counseling with concentrations in Family and Children, Alcohol and Drug Counseling and School Counseling, and a Psy.D. in Counseling Psychology. Responsibilities include teaching primarily undergraduate courses, academic advising, and collaboration with faculty and students to develop/advance a scholarship agenda. Carlow's Department of Psychology and Counseling prizes excellence in teaching, but also values scholarly pursuits, including interdisciplinary collaboration.
Responsibilities:
Teach primarily undergraduate-level courses. These courses will be in the day, online, and evening/weekend accelerated format.
Deliver effective academic advising for both traditional day and evening/weekend accelerated students.
Collaborate with faculty and students to develop/advance a scholarship agenda
Support and appreciate liberal arts education.
Serve on academic committees.
Develop new academic courses.
Engage in scholarly research.
Participate in service to the school, university, and community.
Demonstrate and reflect an understanding of and commitment to the mission and core values of Carlow University and the Sisters of Mercy.

Qualifications:
Earned Doctoral degree in Psychology.
A strong background and interest in Developmental Psychology is preferred, but backgrounds in Cognitive or Health Psychology with a developmental focus will also be considered.
Have the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
Candidate must be available to teach traditional day, online, and evening/weekend accelerated courses.
Experience teaching at the college/university level.
Technological proficiency in a digital learning environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Experience in advising/counseling or mentoring.
Comfort in teaching research methods and/or statistics is also desirable.
