The Department of Psychology, University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM), invites applications for a tenure-stream position in the area of Cognitive Psychology. This appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor and will begin July 1, 2015.
Applicants are expected to have demonstrated excellence in research and teaching in Perception and Cognition, with a preference for visual cognition. Special consideration will be given to candidates whose interests relate to communication. The successful candidate will be part of the research cluster in Human Communication in the Department of Psychology at UTM. There will be opportunities to collaborate with UTM psychologists in research clusters focused on Genes, Environment, Nervous System and Behaviour, Developmental Science, and/or Health, Adaptation and Well-being, as well as with researchers on all three campuses of the University of Toronto.
The successful candidate will have received his or her Ph.D. by the date of appointment or very shortly thereafter. He/she will be able to demonstrate evidence of excellence in both teaching and research. The successful applicant will be expected to develop and maintain an active, externally funded program of research and to contribute to the education and training of undergraduate students as well as graduate students enrolled in the tri-campus University of Toronto Psychology Graduate Program.
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
